Wierd first layer shift

Hi guys, I could really use some help here. A friend asked me to print something he created on tinkercad.

I have a Prusa i3 MK3 (latest Firmware. I think 3.7?) and haven't encountered this (or any major problem) so far. I loaded the .stl file into the Prusa Slicer (ver. 2.0.0) and it it sliced normal like any file. The gcode looked fine but the print itself was wierd. It seems as if the first few layers are shifted, the rest of the print is perfect.

Downloadable .stl / gcode.

Any help / pointers are greatly appreciated.

This is extremely common when insufficient infill is used.   Increase infill and to 25% to 30% Gyroid, or you might find Rectilinear, or Line to perform better on this part, and try again. Rectilinear sometimes works better if you increase infill width to 0.55mm ...

Geez, couldn't fix the mess before the EDIT timeout. So here are pictures from the backside and the gcode to show how it should look like.

Do other prints have this also? A different model?

Did you try a second time?

Hardware maintenance, check everything, bolts, belts etc, clean rods and use special oil, etc.

By the way: the cause is simple:  when the printer is printing the first solid layer, the edges of that layer are not well supported with Gyroid. Square edge, curved support, and the layer begins to curl. The curl is tall enough the nozzle snags on it as the extruder moves, and the stepper stalls.  This is a "crash".  When a stall happens and crash detection is disabled (Stealth mode), the printer is unaware and continues on.  But the extruder is no longer aligned in the real world, and the part builds normally from there on, just offset from wherever the stall occurred.

And one last point: when uploading an image, be sure to set the Link To: from None to Media File.  That allows people to zoom in to the full res image.

Thank you guys! This was driving me nuts! Everything else I printed came out perfect so far, but this thing gave me nightmares.

I tried it four times so far. Three times I got the shift one time it came out perfect (Always same gcode) and I couldn't figure out why.

Had a friend print it for me and he got it good to. *Shrugs*

As for the pictures, I try next time. Found the editor kind of unintuitive and used imgur. :-/
