Top Infill Sticks Out Sides

Hi,

I've noticed that the top infill layer sticks out the sides a little bit around the object. This seems to happen on the transition between top infill/solid and going to less infill/thin walls. I have calibrated my extrusion/filament to 0.45mm and it is still there. I have looked at online printing problems but cannot find the problem or solution.

Can you please point me in the right direction. Here is a photo, you can just about see the top infill layer sticks out the sides, it is quite near the bottom as I was printing a 40mm calibration cube.

Things to try:

  1. Add an external perimeter if you can. (Doesn't look like you can with this part.
  2. Slow down to even out extrusion. Thin walls print faster and can vary. I use 20-25mm/s for external perimeters when finish counts.
  3. Take the time to calibrate your extrusion multiplier for each filament. If your slicer settings don't match your real-world printer and filament settings, you can get small amounts of over-extrusion. Over-extrusion is particularly an issue on solid layers. It can't go down. It will usually go to the sides (thicker walls) or up (stringing and rough finish).
