Supporst falling off

Good Morning all,

during printing this acknowledgeably rather tacky object some of the supports fell off during printing. Luckily it wasn't that important for that print but to avoid in future I would like to have some ideas what can be done better. I haven't printed a lot of things with supports yet, so would appreciate even the most basic comments. Should somebody be able to point me towards a decent tutorial about the whole support business that would also be appreciated. The print had also another issue which I will write about in a separate post to avoid confusion.

Cheers

Hansjoerg

RE: Supporst falling off

Almost every oddball print I do that requires supports built from the part, the support may fall off or stick so well I need to chisel them off. I haven't found a single solution that works in all cases. Change in location for example - which direction is the cooling air coming from - is the part blocking the air flow and the support is welding too well, or is it concentrating the air at the support so it is a cold joint?

Maybe someone else has a sure fire solution... but again, I've not come across one.
