RE: Problems with Gcode files fron the SD card

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your tests. I believe the problem lies in my extruder. After the last frog print, my extruder jammed pretty seriously..

I made several cold pulls to clean the nozzle (i think it's clean), but the last jam created a certain amount of filament powder (the bondtech gears grinded the filament). The situation is that after 10-20 minutes of printing the printer stops extruding material. I might have to replace the PTFE tube.

As soon as I repair the mess, I will try to print the different versions of the file.

Just to eliminate the obvious: Are you printing in an enclosure or room with high ambient temps approaching 40C? The efficiency of the air cooled E3D V6 hotend drops off significantly as temps increase, possibly getting to the point that heat in the extruder can be high enough to soften low-temp materials like PLA, leading to jams. That in turn will lead to the extruder gears grinding filament, leading to that dust build-up you're seeing. Also check to make sure the idler gear in the door rotates freely, and don't over-tighten (or under-tighten) the extruder door. Good luck with it.

Hi Bob,

For sure the temperature of the room can rise up to 35C at noon, but in general it stays below 30C. I will put the AC on and make sure that the printer is under the fresh air flow (at my next print).

Is there a way to tell if the PTFE tube needs replacement?
