printing with 0.6mm nozzle and prusaslicer
hi, i have tried a .6mm nozzle and im quite happy with the quality to allow for twice as fast prints 🙂 but i printed a crypto puzzle i downloaded and the 2 parts would not fit together, i realised it was because the wall thickness was 0.8mm which i presume the 0.6mm nozzle made them 1.2mm because it would of done a double pass on them ? however i could not find any settings in prusaslicer to adjust the wall thickness of the model so i tried cura which allowed me to change it from 0.8 to 0.6 so i printed them again at that and they fitted together lovely, but i prefer to use prusaslicer for some reason i like it better , is there an option for that in there that i cannot find ? seeing as most models will have either .4 or.8mm wall thickness i will constantly need to change it ? or am i doing it all wrong, i have only had the printer 3 days

The first thing I'd do is compare the extrusion multiplier used in Cura compared to PrusaSlicer. Any slight over-extrusion is going to impact puzzle fits, and PrusaSlicer has a tendency to slightly over-extrude at higher layer heights.
The wall thickness shouldn't matter as the perimeters are "inside" the outer wall (what Cura calls skin) of the part, so shouldn't interfere with fit between parts. Using PrusaSlicer, I am (usually) able to get tolerance tests to work down to 0.15mm clearance between parts. Cura's feature to specify a specific wall thickness is nice. Internal features such as infill can also have an impact on external finish and fit. Also be sure to print external perimeters slowly for a consistent fit and finish. I use 20mm/s for external perimeters and top layers.
If you can zip up a copy of your 3MF project file and upload it here, more specific suggestions may be forthcoming.

thank you but i think most of what you said has gone over my head lol, only thing i changed in cura was the wall thickness from 0.8 to 0.6 and the new printed parts worked together perfectly
i have no idea what 3mf is sorry haha

In Prusa slicer if you go to save project as, it saves as a 3mf file. This 3mf file contains not only the models but all your printer, filament and print settings. It makes it much easier to reproduce a particular setup as it’s all in there.

If you're new, I recommend starting with some smaller and faster to print tests before diving right in with an ambitious print that will waste time and filament if it fails. Here are some simpler tolerance test prints:

thank you for the help, i have already done a few successful prints with the 4.0 nozzle, but i prefer the extra speed with the 0.6 nozzle but when i print the walls at 0.8mm then the parts dont fit together
