Printing Tall Simple Object

I have been able to print this with custom support with MeshMixer but when printing with just a Brim that is like 20mm and Z-lift of like 5mm it still wobbles about at higher then z-100mm because the nozzle digging in and moving it side to side, creating layer shift type effect left and right.

is there a way to print this without supports or a massive Brim? what settings changes will i need?

I would print it horizontaly with a few supports/brim to stick it to bed. The strenght along the rod axis would be better. Having the printer correctly calibrated vertical circle print  should not be an issue. 😊

You're fighting hydro-static drag.  One solution is to print horizontally, but the resulting part won't be very symmetrical due to support and overhang issues.  Another approach is to split the part and print the halves face down to eliminate the overhang issues - but you now need to deal with glue.

A third method involves surrounding the wobbly part with a large sheath and pins that connect the sheath to the part once in a while.  This example is a ruler ... but the concept works for most anything that is skinny but tall.
