Printing Solid Works designs

Hi,

At my work we are building large construction of steel beams and since we do all the drawing in Solid Works I thought it would be cool to be able to print some (or all:)) of the designs. My problem(s) is that I'm quite the noob at both Solid and 3d printing. I've managed to export an STL and can both open and scale it in the prusa slicer but when I try to slice it basically says that it is faulty and shows only parts of the model.

My guess is that the walls becomes to thin (we use mainly hot rolled steel bars as beams) so I'm looking for a way to fill them in. Is it possible in the slicer? The Solid designs are large, the strucures we build are about 9x3x3 in meters so I've tried to scale it to 1/72 to fit on the print bed.

Any thought or ideas are welcome

RE: Printing Solid Works designs

Try the easy solutions first.

PrusaSlicer can export the STL to Netfabb for repair.

I like 3D Builder for easy model repairs. That is a free Microsoft app.
