Printing PETG on a flat surface

For surface finish reasons, I would like to print pieces with PETG on a flat surface, not the structured steel sheet. From other discussions, I understand their is a risk of damaging the PEI steel sheet by printing PETG on it. Any suggestions?

I print PETG on PEI all the time.  I use a little Windex to avoid overadhesion if the filament tends to overstick.

yep Windex on smooth PEI, you can use glue stick also but for PETG Windex brand is great.

I'll make yet another suggestion of the Layerneer Bed Weld.  It works great as a PETg release agent.
