Printing Issues

I am currently printing a Mandalorian Helmet and all I need are 3 more pieces and I am done. But as I try to print one of the back pieces the print usually unsticks from the bed. Is it due to the part being tall and skinny? Should I reorient the part so it has a bigger surface area on the bed? Or is it because my bed temp is too low and I should turn it up to a higher temp?

Without seeing the part its difficult to say.  Having printed helmets though and from your description Id say not enough surface area for the height is most likely.  Try printing that part with a brim to increase surface area.

A good clean with dawn/fairy and plenty of hot water on the build plate to remove oils etc doesn't hurt whenever there is adhesion problems though 🙂

Not knowing the filament, bed type, and temps we are just guessing.

But if it is textured and PETG, I would set the bed temperature to 80. That seems to give better adhesion. And use that brim.

In that case - try a brim. It is really easy to remove and helps adhesion a lot.

I would not try a lithophane (tall and skinny) without one.

RE: Printing Issues

I would definitely try to print with a Brim as well. In addition, I started adding some Aquanet Unscented Super Strong Hold Hair Spray to the build surface while it was still cool, and then print on that. It works AMAZING!

I rarely even need to clean the build surface and when I do it simply washes away with warm soapy water. Better yet, I have not had a failed build since I started using it@!

Here is some additional information that maybe helpfull as well.
