Please help with miniatures

Hey guys I’m sure someone already has something posted on here for the best settings to print miniatures, I’m currently using a 0.4 mm nozzle and I really would like some insight on the best settings so I can get my mini finally printed without wasting copious amounts of filaments and hours of tweaking the settings. Thanks again!

RE: Please help with miniatures

So long as you're not expecting resin quality prints from a FFF printer, you can get miniature prints that are fine for tabletop distances. Here's a 28mm detailed mini sliced using Cura tree supports and printed with a 0.25mm nozzle:

Here are some test prints, again with a 0.25mm in gray and 0.15mm in beige but using ideaMaker for good removable supports on flat undersides:

I haven't found one slicer that does everything perfectly. They keys are:

  • Use a nozzle small enough to print the finest details in your print but no smaller.
  • Be sure your filament is dry (dry dry).
  • Calibrate your extrusion multiplier for each filament.

I've got a bunch of notes on settings here that might be useful.

Don't expect to print quickly. Minis take from 1-3 per piece. A resin printer is much faster and will produce higher quality miniature prints.
