Minor Layer Shifting

On my recent model, I had what appeared to be minor layer shifting at the top.

I think the printer might be moving too fast or the belts are too loose. But before I lowered some of the speed settings in slic3r, it printed perfectly fine, except for some ghosting issues and some drooping on the lower corners due to higher temperature. Both of those do not appear as prominent on this print.

Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Re: Minor Layer Shifting

Check the tightness of the screws that hold the pulleys to the X and Y axis steppers. The screws should be as tight as you can make them and one of them needs to be against the flat part of the motor shaft.

Loose pulley screws are the most common cause of layer shifting like you're seeing.

Re: Minor Layer Shifting

Did you ever figure out what was causing this? I'm having the same issues with some minor layer shifts. My pulleys grub screws are tight and have tried multiple variations of belt tension.
