How do I switch from multiple object to individual object mid print?

Ok, so here is what I am doing I am printing an item using TPU (100 layers or so) then for the last two layers I am switching over to PETG for a different color.

It works well enough, however, I want to be able to print multiple objects at once. can I switch the last 2 layers to be individual prints rather than a combined print like the rest of the build?

I don't think you can but I don't understand why it's necessary? If you put a color change in at that point, it would print the next two layers on all objects with the new filament.

Didn't think TPU and PETG would work together but if it does, great.

Colour change function is not available with complete individual objects option.

@neophyl

I know that but the OP asked

can I switch the last 2 layers to be individual prints rather than a combined print like the rest of the build?

So I was wondering why the need to suddenly switch to individual objects and not continue to print as combined.

I agree the request is unclear, I was posting more as a note that the individual option disables colour change or any other insert gcode from the slider.

If the OP can make what they want to do as a 'finished' goal more concise that someone could possibly think of a way.  I mean if the last 2 layers on all the objects needs to be in different colours per object then printing 2 layers on object 1 and then colour changing and doing 2 layers on object 2, object 3 etc becomes more attractive.  However thats only a imaginary scenario.

Afaik there is no built in way to change from whole plater to complete individual at the moment with PS.  I think there's a tangentially related request on Github for something similar already (user wants to print a model with several towers and wants it to print the towers individually once its printed the base.  Not quite the same but sorta similar).

Of course there is the old standby method of slicing the whole plate, then re-slicing with just the the tops and complete individual enabled and then manually stitching the gcode together for the print.

Sorry if I was unclear.

- build 4 objects at once 100 layers

- last two layers I am doing a filament change (I have this figured out)

- on those last two layers, I want each object to finish those two layers before moving to the next item. I am printing text and switching between objects on text printing can result in blurry letters.

I have never tried this...

create a setup with your 4 parts on the build plate  save it as  Project (.3mf file)
save the G code, (including the colour change setting for the last two layers)

edit the gcode and delete everything from the  M600 colour change command onwards

then delete three of  the four instances, reslice the file,  save the gcode
delete everything before M600, and delete the end Gcode
add the remaining two layers gcode including the M600, to your first G code...
reload your Project file, to get all of the parts back in the same places...
delete a different three items, and repeat editing the gcode

rinse and repeat until you have the Gcode for the last item, and this time keep the end gcode as well...
add that to the original gcode, and you should be good to go....

Thanks everyone, I just ended up turning the knob to slow the print way down when switching the materials. Cheers

If your text (emboss) isn't clear, you probably are having some other setting issues.

Post the model ...
