Frog legs anyone?

This was my second print, new to 3D printing. I printed the frog that was included on the SD card. The front legs did not print correctly. Any ideas what went wrong? The rest of the frog looks ok.

RE: Frog legs anyone?

Two things - one is your layer one is too high, you really need to squish the plastic into the texture. The first layer needs to be a solid sheet of plastic, not a bunch of lines.

Second - PLA adhesion to the texture sheet is problematic.  The best suggestion to try is to take the sheet to the sink, using a few drops of generic dish detergent on a fresh paper towel and wash the sheet thoroughly. Handling by the edges, rinse until water is sheeting off (beading), then dry with a new paper towel. Still handling by the edges, place the dry sheet on the printer and preheat the bed to PETG (80c bed temp). Let it sit for a while - 15 minutes or so - to cook off any moisture that has reached into the texture.

Then try again.

If this fails and the feet still come loose, try printing with PETG instead of PLA. And buy a smooth sheet for PLA printing, or one of the textured knock-offs like THEKING.

I followed your advise. Adjusted Z for more "squish".  I used the smooth sheet I got with the printer (I had bought both). Cleaned the sheet, let it dry. Second frog came out much better.

Thanks for the advise and the quick reply!!
