Extreme blobbing at start of prints

Hello Everyone!

I am running into an issue with printing smaller parts. I noticed that i have a huge failure rate at the start of prints where the first layer seems to be printed quite coarsely and it is a matter of time until the printhead catches on a blob caused by that, pulling the piece right off the print bed. At first i thought something was wrong with my extrusion, but that all seems to work just fine. I also tried playing around with the first layer height (afraid it was set too low), but that only made the parts not adhere as well to the printbed, and they started falling off either way.

What is the best way to troubleshoot this? I added an image on how the bottom layer of my prints look. Many thanks for your advice!

RE: Extreme blobbing at start of prints

After playing some more with the first layer height settings, it did seem to print better.
