Empty layers detected

Hello,

Can someone help me with this? When I slice I'm getting the message that there are empty layers ' Print z:0.350000'. There's a hole 25 mm in depth and 16 mm on one side of the egg shaped object.

Seems like the forum won't allow me to post the file.

RE: Empty layers detected

You have to zip up files for the forum to accept them.  Could you please save your project file from Prusa Slicer (File > Save Project As) which will save a .3mf file.  The 3mf contains not only the model but all the settings you are using to slice with.  Zip it up and use the attach file button.  That will allow us to see and use your exact settings and it allows much easier debugging.  You could also include the model file separately in the zip file if you want.

If layers are to thin to print, you get empty space.

You could try to make model or lines thicker,

or use "detect thin walls"  sometimes this helps.

The object is small.

The ring under de egg is to thin and there are gabs between egg and ring, ring needs to be bigger on the egg side, so you have more connection to the egg. Maybe a thin ring on the outside?

Wen I slice, there is a gab between ring and egg.

And there is no support for the inner ring on bottom, that is floating in the air, and is not printable without support, try support only on build plate, in the upper part is also a part that needs support, but this will print I think.

And use layer editing to make the top of the egg use more thin lines.

@peter-m26

Thanks, I added the ring after having the issue. I thought the slicer would add support. I was using Tinkercad, haven't used it in a while, still trying to learn the big boy version!
