bridging instead of support issue

When I try to print top (lid) of an enclosure (walls on the printer bed) , and inside (on the "ceiling") of the lid are features, the features get support and are printed correctly,

but

the top of the lid does not get support, and it is printed with bridging (see spaghetti in the attached image). If I remove the features, the inside surface of the lid prints correctly with support (and no spaghetti).

the attached picture gets cut by the forum, and I can't do anything about it... so you don't see the whole image. This is looking inside the lid, the walls were on the printer bed:

With the features in place, I can't enforce support... What can (should) I do?

thanks

unfortunately:  no I can't.  The top has even more complicated features (not seen in the picture).

Can you post your .3MF file here so the smart people can look at it and make suggestions on how it can be resolved. Joan's suggestion was first one to come to mind, but.....

Quality is the Journey, not the Destination. My limited prints->

Ok Pavel,

can you adjust the bridging so that it goes across the short dimension instead of along the long dimension?

I'll upload the .3mF  later today.

I am trying to figure out why the support can't be enforced inside the lid if/when they are features on the top.

  • Without features, the whole lid is filled with support.
  • With Features inside, only the features get support... the rest is done with bridging.

Have you tried turning detect bridging =OFF and then putting a support enforcer under the entire lid ?
