Blobs & zits advice

Good Afternoon,

I've been using my Prusa Mk3's for some time now, and generally have no isse, but there is one job that is currently driving me nuts.

I am printing out a box, in PETG, and am getting lots of randomly placed blobs and zits on the inside wall.  In the past I have had this problem, and then managed to align the blobs so I can easily cut them off with a sharp chisel knife.  However, I seem to have lost that particular part of my mojo.

I have tried the 'Align' option under print settings/seam settings, but this doesn't do the trick.  I know there is a way of achieving this, I have just completely forgotten how.  In essence, I can handle the blobs and zits, but I am trying to get them in a straight line to make the post processing quicker and easier.  I have also tried the paint-on seam tool, again with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Andy

Save your current  3MF project file, zip it up, and attach it to a reply here so we can see your part & settings and give better recommendations.

I'm afraid that I can't post pics or upload files, as this part is subject to a non-disclosue agreement.

I was hoping it'd be a bit more straightforward in terms of remedy, as someone else must have seen this issue.

Thanks anyway

how about applying the problem to a sample model, as I am all to familiar with non-disclosue agreements, it's how we sometimes communicate a problem to our vendors.

The real problem is we don't know what the issue could be, as you have given us nothing to go on.

Good Luck,

RE: Blobs & zits advice

If the zits and blobs are getting worse, it is likely that the PETG has become water-soaked and drying would help. The only reliable alignment is the "rear" alignment.

My general tips for printing PETG

-Use fiber filled  PETG if possible, there is significantly less stringing and warping with the addition of fibers

-A micro swiss nozzle with its slippery coating will greatly reduce the buildup of PETG around the nozzle

-Printing with zhop enabled will reduce the buildup of PETG around the nozzle but it will increase stringing
