ABS print issue

How can I print this object with a better result.

Material: ABS (generic)
Printer: Prusa MK3s, 0.4 mm nozzle, in a good enclosure
Slicer: slic3R PE
Settings: Prusa Generic ABS presetting (with 3 perimeters).

Most problems with printing ABS are with printing small parts.

Printing PETG and PLA with the Prusa slicer setting works very fine, never a problem.

Suggestions are very welcome.

Re: ABS print issue

good day,

it is not enough to cool.
try slower print or place multiple pieces.

MK3 + Fusion 360 + SlicerPE

Re: ABS print issue

20% cooling fan will very likely fix the issue.

layers are not cooling enough before the next layer is being put on top of them. Use cooling fan or slow down or print multiple parts at once.

I had the same problem printing a similar part and fixed it with the fan.

Thanx,

I am very satisfied with your advice, Prusa ABS presetting with additional 20% cooling, from the third layer.

Re: ABS print issue

You might even be able to improve it further with a little more fan and a 5 degree lower temperature. You will possibly reduce layer adhesion but have improved cosmetic appearance. It is a balancing act depending on what you want the part to do.

A big improvement on the original though. Sometimes you just have to play around with the settings. The base settings are normally pretty good but won't print everything.
