A hand of help with two prints

Good afternoon mates

i want your help. I print a spinner with support (only check the support and after press yes) and a another think supposed with ironing.

the first have a serious issue with the support. Also in other prints Support doesn’t help for smooth result.I don’t know why…..and the second have some scratches (I print it again with no ironing and it was better).

so can I use support for better results. What to do to take a really ironing result ?!

At the end I want to print the screen shot that is in the prusa programm.any ideas ?!

thanx

If you save your project as a .3mf file, zip it, and post it here we will be able to take a look at the problem.

RE: A hand of help with two prints

You have given me .3mf files, thank you, but they are not project saves (from File > Save Project) so I cannot see your settings.  However:

the first have a serious issue with the support. Also in other prints Support doesn’t help for smooth result.

This is with the spinner ?  That part is not well designed for 3d printing; it looks like a design for injection moulding that someone has copied.  The overhangs are too steep for a clean print. Your best hope of printing it is to use the MMU with soluble supports.  It would be easier to redesign.

2.3mf does not have large surfaces so ironing is not suitable.  The part is flat though, so print it without ironing then place a sheet of WET abrasive on a flat surface and smooth it that way.

3.3mf is well designed for 3d printing, it should print well at a 0.15mm layer height.

@diem

a very thanx to you. thanx man.

some question and some other prints.

1. what is mmu and soluble support?!

2. what is WET?

and other four prints if you could mind!!! the one is as a mine print result. The snitch I think if I cut it in middle and after I will  make it with glue will be better?! the Hogwarts  if I cut it In four squares will be better?! and the elder wand I don't know if it is better vertical or horizontal.

I appreciate all your help. Thanx a lot.

Ps: the coaster in photo is good enough. I just wondering how to make it more solid. There are lines…maybe from the head?! Thanks

1. what is mmu and soluble support?!

https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/54-original-prusa-mmu2s

https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/special/161-verbatim-bvoh-soluble-support-05kg.html# or similar

2. what is WET?

Er, dunked in water ... if sanded dry some filaments, especially PLA, are likely to heat up enough to melt.

The Elder Wand is a horrible shape for printing.  The only flat surface has a tiny area ...

I would cut both the wand and the snitch into half horizontally, print them flat side down and glue them afterwards, the wand may need a warmer than usual bed to prevent warping.

The Ravenclaw coaster looks incomplete, I'm not sure what you are trying to do but if you want to use it as a coaster you should choose filament that will withstand the temperature of your hottest drinks.

Cheerio,

thanx a lot.

one last question for a print.  I can't send a 3mf for that because my 2 core pc is warming enough.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4713137

is that print possible?!

some suggested options for that?

RE: A hand of help with two prints

There are pictures of a printed version plus 9 people have uploaded pictures of the prints they have made ... but did you look in the comments and read about the spelling mistake?

Yes it's printable but it needs a minor fix.

There is a spelling mistake on the plaque at the base of the model.

RE: A hand of help with two prints

It uses the word 'Wizardary' which is wrong, it should be 'Wizardry."
