XYZ calibration failure

Hi everyone, I have just built an i3 MK3S kit and am going through the initial bed levelling procedure.

It keeps failing and I keep getting the “XYZ calibration failed. Bed calibration point was not found.” error.

The problem seems to be that when the X-axis has been raised to the very top of the Z-axis, and is then lowered by the software to start the bed levelling procedure it always stops with the nozzle 4mm  to 5mm above the heated bed, meaning that the PINDA probe is 5mm to 6mm above the heated bed.  I can manually wind the X-axis down the Z-axis so that the nozzle touches the heated bed, indicating that there isn’t anything physical preventing the X-axis moving further down than it does automatically.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular problem?   Thanks in advance, Martin
