X-axis length error

We have a Mk3s that we assembled about a year ago. It's been a champ, but in the middle of my last print, it suddenly shifted over about 2 inches.  Now, it won't calibrate properly.  When I run a self-test, it says "Selftest Error! Please Check Axis length Axis X".  The axis appears to only want to move to the right - it never moves left as part of the self test or belt test. The belt seems as tight as it has been, and we've not even moved the printer since the last successful print of the exact same item.  The gear seems to be firmly attached to the motor shaft.  What else should I check? Would a video of what I'm seeing help diagnose?

Thank you all!

Try moving all axes slowly and carefully back and forth when printer is switched off. Are they jamming in one or more places? If so, I would simply try to lubricate them (grease or oil).
As with any linear bearing, where steel moves on steel, lubrication is necessary, otherwise the bearings either destroy the guide shafts or the ball bearings themselves wear heavily and become noisy or can jam.
This applies to all linear bearings on all axes.
