X Axis length error on self test

My i3 Mk3S has been running flawlessly for the past 6 months since I built it (apart from an occasional MinTemp error on switch on reported elsewhere)

Last night a print crashed with a terrible birds nest.   This has never happened before.

Now it keeps reporting an X axis length error

I tried the recalibration wizard but get the same error

Selftest error:
Please check :
Axis Length
Axis.  X

Has anyone any idea what could be wrong?   How does it measure the X axis length as there are no limit switches?

Have you considered to reset to factory values and then run the printer through an initial setup?

Cheers

Chris

I try to give answers to the best of my ability, but I am not a 3D printing pro by any means, and anything you do you do at your own risk....

@just3d

Isn't that what happens when you run the setup wizard?  It certainly warns you that everything will be reset.
