TURN OFF AUTO MESH BED LEVELING FOR 2D PLOTTER
Hi I am trying to use my MK3 as a plotter. I am using laserWeb to generate the Gcode and then I sent it to octoprint to run it. I am using G28 in the header of the Gcode but the machine still performs the mesh bed leveling. This causes the pen to drag / leave dots on the bed / paper.
I watched lots on youtube but settled on Matthew Rayfield's technique:
I thought G28 W homed all and it was the G80 command that does the mesh levelling in start up gcode ?
Also I'm not at my printer at the moment but have you checked in the printer settings via the lcd to see if you can turn off mesh levelling in there ?
Hi Neophyl im not calling a G80. I did look to seel if i could turn off the bed levaling on the LCD but "OFF" is not an option.
The header is:
G21 ; Set units to mm
G90 ; Absolute positioning
G28 ; Home
G0 Z10.0 ; Go to 10mm on Z Axis a.k.a. Pen up
I will give G28W a go later today. I did look and octoprint isn't inserting anything on start.
Adding the W to the G28 worked a treat. Thanks for the help. I can now get on and make some PCBs.
Ps. Where did u find the knowledge on the adding the W? The few places I looked had no mention of W in reference to G28
That's a useful Prusa specific one. Normally I just use the general Marlin one but the W is not a standard option.
I don't remember where I first saw it but the 'G28 W' had a comment after it saying ;Home all without mesh levelling. Which is why it stuck in my head.
