Trying to understand bed level correction

Hi all,

I’m trying to level my bed more perfectly with the use of this guide, as I often have areas where it is too far from the print bed after doing my first layer calibration in the middle:  https://help.prusa3d.com/ja/article/bed-level-correction_6019

From what I can tell, after I did my initial first layer calibration (-1.230) and running the 9 square calibration print provided in the guide, the middle areas of my textured sheet and front middle is warped or something as the nozzle is too far from the bed in those areas and leaves gaps between lines, while the sides and rear are nice and smooth.

Next, I did more live z adjusts and calibration squares for the middle to get the middle of the print bed leveled (-1.300), figuring after that is done, I can then use the bed correction adjusts for the left and right sides since there is no option for the middle. I ran the 9 square calibration print again and the left and right sides were squished as I expected with the middle now leveled, so I then added .70 to my left and right in the bed correction menu figuring this would get them leveled again and leave the middle leveled as well. Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case, as I’m getting a neat identical 9 square calibration printout to the first one I did. So in essence it seems that raising both the left and right affected the middle anyways whereas I was hoping it would leave the middle alone and adjust the bed leveling so only the left and right were raised more.

I’m not sure what my next step is from here; there’s nothing in the guide or bed correction options that would just left me level the middle, and doing it the other way around by leveling the middle and then adjusting the sides down to what they were when they were leveled then leaves the middle messed up again. Does anyone have some advice on how to get all areas leveled?

RE: Trying to understand bed level correction

Hi i have only just been through the same as you, my  front corner was out.

for me i used live z adjustments to get the best starting point i could.

i was moving it slowly by .2 or 3 to get the corners nice and flat, i understand that you say your plate may be warped, have you turned it over and the seen what happens?

from what i have seen it seems to work best on corners and not the whole side, i may be wrong
