Trying to find a generic ilder pulley
So I was having an issue with grinding noises and layer shifting in my X axis. I disassembled my Mk3 and found that the idler pulley (bearing housing 623h) basically disintegrated as I pulled it out.
I was looking for a cheap, fast replacement part (sorry Prusa store, would prefer to be brand loyal, but don't want to wait weeks and pay $15 shipping for what Amazon can turn around in 24 hours for free)

But unfortunately the spool was too big to fit in the X-end-idler.
I have two printers, and it sounds like the idler pulley/bearing housing623h might be failing on the other printer as well, so ordering these parts from the Prusa store wouldn't be the end of the world, but I would prefer to save myself some dollars and some weeks of waiting.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

The older, black plastic idler has a block that inserts into the x-axis-idler that can adjust the belt tension, while the newe one is open, has no block, and has one stationary pin for the idler pulley insertion >.>

My question would be, which one of these is an analog to the Prusa part?

you'll have to look for yourself on that. I use McMaster often they seem to have everything, you should be able to find out what the pulley type is and then just look it up on McMaster. Prusa has part lists

Also the old disintegrated pulley had teeth, while my newer one is smooth >.>

I'm not sure where your skill level is with regard to mechanical works, but you could just buy the new bearing and put it in the old pulley.
All of these parts are readily available, in pieces or assembled.

Pulley on the left: too big one I bought on Amazon
pulley on the right: pulley that was in my older Prusa that had the interior parts disintegrate out

My concern is the older pulley appears smaller than the pulley in my newer Prusa, so even if I buy the Prusa store brand pulley, I'd need to buy a new X-axis-idler set as well >.>
Is it a difference between Mk3 and Mk3s?

The pulley usually breaks the bearings. So also at mine. I just bought new bearings and pressed them into the pulley.

the pulley on the right looks like a 16 tooth pulley the one on the left looks like a 20 tooth pulley,
the original picture seems to be non standard, this is a Prusa X axis Idler end piece with the bearing in place
there is only one piece of plastic, and one screw with a nylock nut on the back
your setup appears to be non standard and seems to have a belt tensioner built in.
These MAY work... I have no experience with your setup...

I went ahead and ordered the x-axis-idler and bearing housing623h from the official store, we'll see if this Amazon bearing can get my limping along until the official goods arrive.

So those amazon bearings seemed to do the trick, and I reassembled everything. Was able to re-calibrate the XYZ, the wizard failed....
So I went for it, trying to print a test cellphone holder, and I ended up with the print failing due to a wonky base level. Went and reprinted, and this was what I saw:
I figured it might be an SD card issue so I reformatted it, resliced, and ended up with the same issue. My concern is I might not have reassembled properly. What do you guys think?
