Thoughts on recent Mac PrusaSlicer local build

I actually found some time this evening and thought I would try a local build of the recent PrusaSlicer beta. A quick download and about 40 minutes of compile on my late 2015 iMac and I had a local binary ready to run. In the past, I have enjoyed the challenge of fixing up something here or there or manually adding a missed lib in order to get things working. This time around however, I was pleasantly surprised at how streamlined the entire process has become.

I found the dependency build well organized and the main compile and link to be quite efficient. For those with a modern colorized terminal, the actual progress of the build looked very professional. If anyone is looking to give this a try, I highly recommend you go for it. Even under BigSur with the latest Xcode, I did not experience any oddities during the build.

A big shout out to all the Prusa software developers who have put so much hard work into this application. The quality shows through and through.

Well done. Well done, indeed.

Thanks indeed for the compliment. Maintaining the compilation process including all the dependencies is a non trivial and very time consuming process indeed and making it streamlined invites contributors (welcomed) and of course forkers and fragmenters (not so much welcomed).
