The printer does not resume printing after a pause

Hello to everyone.
For the first time I wanted to use the function of pause and resume printing on MK3S. In Prusa-slicer I put a mark on the vertical scale by setting the pize command (M601). Started printing, the printer paused. But when I told him to continue printing through the menu, he returned the extruder to the right place to continue printing, used a little retraction and ... oops. The pause command is executed again and it returns to the far left corner, waiting for the command to continue printing.
I don't know Gcode well. But when viewing the file, I do not see the M602 command that continues printing. This is normal? Or is it enough for the printer that I tell him to continue printing in the menu? In any case, printing does not resume as expected.

RE: The printer does not resume printing after a pause

I have never had this issue.  I pause prints all the time to swap filaments.

RE: The printer does not resume printing after a pause

I am getting the exact same behaviour as __MAX__ above. The printer pauses at specified layer, I then resume the print from the menu and it returns to correct position, does a retraction then pauses again back to same previous pause position. I have attempted to resume 3/4 times now and still same issue. Anyone have any ideas?

I solved this problem by simply replacing this command with a filament change. I change the filament and it's the same. but 100% guarantee that at the right time I will have a pause. At the same time, I turn on the silent mode so that the printer does not squeak, signaling that the filament needs to be changed.

RE: The printer does not resume printing after a pause - similar behaviour

I too have seen similar behavior except that it happens for me when I pause from the menu.  Perhaps I will try a gcode pause and see if I can replicate the behavior you mentioned.  In my case, I had assumed it was because I was using Octoprint, as when I pause and start from the Octoprint menu it seems to work normally. It definitely doesn't work unless I issue both the pause and resume commands from the same controlling device, which doesn't surprise, but it is disappointing.

I inserted a M601 into a print and it seem to work normally, except when restarting from the LCD display, the display went blank for about 60 seconds.  The display did come back, but during the remaining print time the paused message did not clear.

Spoke to soon

Update to last post.

The print did appear to finish as the print head moved around on all three axis, however when I went to clear the print bed, there was noting actually printed after the resume.  Very strange behavior.

I'm seeing the exact same behavior on my printer.  I have an MK3 upgraded to an MK3s with the current firmware, and I'm also using the latest PrusaSlicer 2.4.

I tell the printer to resume, but it gets into a weird state.  The print head moves around, but the extruder doesn't feed.

Looking at the serial log, I see this:

Recv: ok
Send: N13675 G1 X114.641 Y100.169 E.05418*84
Recv: echo: cold extrusion prevented

Is it possible that during the pause, the temperature drops, and when it resumes, the firmware detects that it's gotten too cold so it refuses to extrude?

Looks like this is a known bug: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues/3498

RE: The printer does not resume printing after a pause

I have this not starting after a pause issue. My work around is to start the print and as soon as it starts hit the start again, repeat this and it will start.

RE: The printer does not resume printing after a pause

Hello, I have the same issue. I pause to insert nuts and when I resume the print the printer will seem to restart but immediately pauses again. My work around is, upon restarting the print go back into the menu and get ready to select restart print again. When the printer starts to restart hit the restart again just prior to the failure happening. This seems to override the fault.
