Steel Sheet Malfunction/Damaged

Hello everyone,

I had an issue with my steel sheet and would like to know if it is preventable on future new steel sheets or was it a faulted steel sheet.

I printed in a new side of the steel sheet only to have the film that covers the steel sheet to unattached itself from the steel sheet and came together with the printed part.

I used standard print configurations like bed/nozzle temperature, etc. The print was prusament filament petg.

Thanks.

Welcome on board,

Printing PETG on the smooth sheet is not recommended, officialy. You know why now.

To be simplistic : PLA on smooth sheet, PETG on textured sheet.

I wish that Prusa advertised the existence of their knowledge base more widely.  As the old saying goes RTFM, https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/petg_2059   is the page specifically for petg and there is a warning in there about printing on the smooth sheet.  It was also in the printed manual when I bought my Mk3 several years ago.

Some useful links

Knowledge Base - https://help.prusa3d.com/en/
Prusa Slicer  - https://help.prusa3d.com/en/category/prusaslicer_204

I like this Prusa Material Guide. It has links to most materials and how to use them.

The link is just below the search field on the knowledge base.

Thanks to everyone that replied.

I ll start using the textured sheet.

Or in last case using glue stick as recommended in the Prusa Material Guide.
