Serious Z axis calibration

So recently I replaced my X axis belts, idler pulley, and bearings, and now I’m trying to calibrate, and every time it comes to the Z axis, it pushes down into the bed and grinds.

The issue seems to be that the pinda sensor is far past the edge of the plate, so when the nozzle drops, the sensor has nothing to pick up (pics attached)

The pinda works perfectly on 3 of the other four corners, so it’s not a bum Linda; it’s just getting it to not go too far right on the s axis on the first point.

How do I tell my machine it’s home can’t be so far to the right?

RE: Serious Z axis calibration

Check if x-axis can go all the way to the left.

Check , at the back if it is hitting something.

In the prusa manual you can see  a picture how far to the left it supposed to go.

The fan, the screws on the left should be turned in to be flush with the outside, and the fan should almost hit the printer wen x-axis is al the way to the left.

If x-axis can not go all the way to the left, then it is possible it will try to go to far to the wright.

If you can adjust how far to the left, do home again and it should work again. Then x-axis starts counting from the left(more to the left).

Here’s a video of the x axis in action

Basically I can span from X=0 to X=254

Your X axis is running backwards.  [0,0] should be on the front left, not the right.  Check your X axis connection to the board because it may be reversed.

@paulhostettler

X=0 should indeed be on the left. Watching hour video, I think you  have accidently mounted the x-axis steppermotor the wrong way. The pulley on the motor should be facing to the front and not to the back.

A prusa printer homes in the left front corner.

Position is 0 for all axis, x-axis should be 0 on the left.

Well that is quite the silly mistake! I’ll try fixing it this afternoon
