Rebooting when heating after nozzle change

Hello together,

because of a clogged nozzle I have replaced it. Since then, my Prusa MK3S restarts every time the hotend heats up.

Because the nozzle is so difficult to reach, I can not exclude that I touched the cables of the hotend when replacing the nozzle.

How can I fix the problem now? Is the hotend running off one of the fuses and do I need to replace it eventually? If so, which one is it?

Unfortunately, other than the reboot, I don't get any error message from the printer.

I hope you guys can help me.

Best regards
Lars

RE: Rebooting when heating after nozzle change

When does the reboot happen?

 - As soon as heating starts?

- When the nozzle reaches full temperature and the current turns off?

- at some other stage?

Is it possible you may have dislodged a connector?

Don't forget that the print bed heating usually turns on at the same time, check that connection too.

@diem

Thanks for your help.

It reboots as soon as the heating of the hotend starts. The heating of the bed doesn't cause a reboot.

All connectors are in place. The self test works fine until the nozzle is heated.

@lars-4

If you have a multimeter it is worth checking the fuses but this sounds like a closed circuit problem. It is possible you need a new thermistor - but I am not going to make a firm diagnosis.

Log into your Prusa shop account and go to live chat; support will go through the issue with you and they can provide the parts if needed.  Live chat is the quickest way to get support from Prusa and they are very good at their job.

Hi

I am having the same issue, did you get a solution to the problem?

We generally assume that when someone drops off the thread they no longer have an issue to fix.

If your problem really is identical the answer will be the same because if it's a closed circuit issue there is a risk of runaway escalation of the problem that could, potentially, become dangerous if not properly addressed.
