Prusa MK3S display glitching out when printing over USB or Octoprint

Sometimes, when I print over USB or Octoprint, the Prusa glitches out. The print stops and weird characters on the display. Usually happens with longer prints. What can I do to resolve this? My colleagues do not seem to have the same problem with their MK3S printers. It doesn't happen when painting with SD cards, but I specifically want to print over USB for practical reasons.

What version of firmware are you running? I believe there was a garbled LCD issue (although not specific to USB) on previous version.

I just relisted I do get this error message in Octoprint when it happens.

State: Offline (Error: Temperature heated bed switched off. MINTEMP triggered ! - // action:cancel)

Also relisted it happens when printing with SD cards to. Sometimes I get a propper error message on the display "mintemp fixed" so I guess I have to replace the heater or thermostat.

@anders-mclean

I am having the same problem. But with me it also happens when printing from SD card. I read a lot in this forums and I think it could be either a problem with g-code (because it happens at the same spot a lot) or a broken wire from the heatbed thermistor.

You might want to check out this post: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-hardware-firmware-and-software-help/heatbed-mintemp-thermistor/#post-216508

BTW: Upgrading the firmware to the newest version seems to get rid of the funny LCD characters but now displays an errormessage. So still no printing for me.

I solved this problem. The problem was that the wires to the bed thermostat had ben bent so many times, the copper inside the wire was broken off. It connects most of the time but easy got disconnected when the cables moved. Solved but chopping a bit of  the cable off, re-soldering and heat shrinking it back together.
