Prusa i3MK3 the machine just restarts mid print
I have an interesting issue that's happened only recently with my machine just restarting mid print, no error message, no clogs, no noises.
Just as if a ghosty just pushed the restart button.
Latest firmware installed 3.9.1-3581
Self test is fine

YES...Happening to me as well. Just built it last night.
Passes all the calibrations.
Prusa sign printed great.
Benchy, stopped at the middle of the floor. Looks great besides that.
Tried the gears, stopped 3 times at different points.
Bat-a-rang, printed great.
Little Astro boy, no issue, same with bottle opener.
I’m going up update firmware tomorrow. Then I’ll try a print from the PC. Some mentioned a bad SD card, so I’ll see if that changes anything.

SD card slot is another known weak point.

Reformatted the SD card and trying the gears again. So far so good. 2:45 left to go !
Forgot to update the firmware... I'll do that after.

So, I got home from work.
Copied the files to my desktop and reformatted the SD card. Put the files back on the card and started the "gears" print. 2:15 left to go... Been going 45 min so far. Knock on wood. Will post results.

Just stopped. No error.

Trying a different card now.
Going with Benchy that I downloaded and sliced in Prusa.

I'm doing the same, I tried the fatebringer and sliced with Cura 4.7.1 and tried with prusa slicer both just stopped machine restarted while i was in the room.
Now trying a benchy on a different SD card clean format and using prusa slicer
Touch base in 3.5 hrs

It worked. Three successful prints off of the different SD card. Bad batch of cards it sounds like they got. Hope yours is fixed as well!

The Benchy printed perfectly but was only a quick print, I am now trying a 26hr print to see if it restarts with the new SD card being used. update tomm

I just did a 8 hour overnight print and it was flawless.
I hope this solution works for you.
I printed 4 other small things to confirm it.
Not one stoppage.

After 21 hrs of a 26hr print it restarted same as before RIP, this time I will buy a brand new SD card tomm when the shops are open and try the test again

I been printing all day... Three different prints, will be doing another all nighter again.

Ok the printer restarted again 23hrs into the 26hr print time, after exhausting the SD card theory and checking the cables are properly connected I am going with @tim-m30 suggested and rite it off as the SD card reader attached to the LCD unit. Ordered another one and will be here in a week I will try the same print after replacing it and post how I went.

Be sure to let the forum know the outcome of replacing the SD slot. And while you have the old one apart, have a look-see at the metalwork for the SD and snap an image or two ... might be useful for future diagnostic sessions.
