Printer does not home after print

Hello,

I assembled my mk3s kit last weekend, and have had several great prints.  Unfortunately, when I have collision detection on, phantom collisions are being detected and interrupting prints.  Als9, the print head has stopped returning to the correct home position at the completion of a print, such that when the next print begins the calibration sequence sends the head to the the edge of the plate and the motors grind the head against the stops.  Autohome is not working correctly, also leading to grinding.  My short term fix has been to run the self test before each print which leaves the extruder head correctly homed.

Please give me some good advice for a fix.

Thank you,

Charlie

Check for binding in X and Y. Power off and slide the extruder / build plate both directions.

If you feel any binding - fix it. Take this opportunity to grease your bearings - since you probably skipped it.

Don't forget idler wheels have bearings too.

And - if you are slicing models you need to make sure you are including the proper commands in the startup gcode ... that is what homes the printer before a print starts.
