Not getting it to work since days. Prints are not successful anymore

Hi guys,

I am totally frustrated. Today, I replaced the heatbreak, the silicon tube and the nozzle. I had exactly the same issues, as they now still continue.

The filament transport seems to work (no clicking). At some point in time, at a random layer, he stops drawing lines replaced by dots. Looks like, there ist not enough transport. A tried several filaments from different brands. After doing a perfect Z calibration, the first layer of the model I wanted to print seems not to be closed at all. Just at the second layer in this case, it stops proper printing. Attached the pictures. Any clue?

Have you taken any steps to clean the nozzle:   Hot Purge?  Cold Pull?

yes. To be honest, does not look like it is jammed. It is always possible to unload the filament easily with the built in function.  I have recognized some a strange behavior. Some point in time, having done a perfect Z calibration, randomly, he again starts printing a non closed first layer, even if first layer heigh ist set to 100%. It is absolutely strange. Here again a picture of todays try. The left object is the finished one, the other the broken ones. Any clue, if it could be an issue with z axis transport? I have changed the pinda, the nozzle, the heatbreak, pfte and the hotend. No success till now...

Perhaps related to my issue in this other post? See:

That layer 1 test looks unusual.  I haven't seen the printer leave a gap on only one side like that. Usually, the gap will be evenly spaced, leaving each extrusion path open on both sides.

As for the half finished part.  What happened when the printer stopped?  Were you present to see what happened?

I would check the bondtech gears first. Then the cables to the extruder motor. Random extruder issues are usually being caused by a hardware issue.

Hi, just to keep this post actual. Looks like, I found a solution, at least for me. Against the advise in the assembly instructions, I have tightened the screw with the spring about 5mm more (Advise was to keep it plane with the locknut). Since I did this, there seems to be more traction on the gears.

That's a bit extreme. You may want to check the axle of the idler gear is set properly.  You want both ends to be equidistant in the ears it pushes into.  It shouldn't be flush on one side and depressed on the other. It needs to be depressed equal both sides.

This sketch gives an idea:
