MMU2S Feedback

I recently got an MK3S and (after a few growing pains) it's working great.  I've done 100's of hours of prints without a problem (all PLA so far).  I'm trying to figure out if there's an MMU2S in my future, but, having read various posts & articles on it, am a bit hesitant.

1. I read that MMU2S can be super finicky and it seems like a lot of people have trouble completing a print without jams or human intervention.  Has that been your experience as well?

2. Will install MMU2S make single-filament prints less reliable?  As I said, my current MK3S is working great and I would hate to degrade my baseline single-filament performance.

Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide.

RE: MMU2S Feedback

i mostly use my MMU2S to select among filaments for single filament jobs and it works great . careful assembly and verification of the sensor operation is critical. i did a couple of upgrades to the stock mmu2s that help. replaced rear filament guide assy with one that uses festo fittings to retain the PTFE. and a tweaked selector that has a magnet to help ensure the ball drops when the filament is clear.

RE: MMU2S Feedback

But it is heavy to print new form  (thank to thingiverse) and adapt the MK3 (with S ?) for a good very good MMU2 (with S ?). We are waiting (always waiting) updating for the best. We want the best (ok) for the average man (and woman 😋 ) who want a machine working with minor problem and less adaptation. It decourage some (and me a little i confess).

Claire (toute petite).
