Mesh Levelling offset to the left

When doing mesh levelling, the extruder jump left just before levelling starts. The whole living process happens offset to the left. The 1st point is at the home location seamingly outside the print area.

I have not been printing in a while. Decided to print some shields for COVID-19 here in South Africa. Did not test printer before upgrading firmware. What I have tried without success:

  • Upgraded the firmware to 3.8.1 "prusa3d_fw_MK3_3_8_1_2869.hex" - I think it was from version 3.7.1 but not 100% sure.
  • Reset the printer to default.
  • Rerun calibration.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

Kind Regards

Jason

Are you sure, remember that its the pinda probe which is mounted on the right thats doing the checking.  That makes the nozzle appear to be to the left of the spots on the bed.

Here is a link to the levelling. I did chat to support this morning. They also thought it was normal. Something has most definatly changed for me. It might be correct though.

My concern is the jump to the left just before it probes the bed.

Not sure external linking is allowed. Link to Video. If not please delete post.

RE: Mesh Levelling offset to the left

Hi Jason.

As Neophyl stated, the MBL is done by the PINDA probe and not the Nozzle. If you  watch it while it is happening You will notice that the grid that is checked is centered in the bed. So the nozzle does jump(sic) to the left. If you switch to 7x7 MBL and use  Pronterface to connect to the printer and issue a G80 command to the printer it is easier to see than when using 3x3. There is another Topic ; https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/english-forum-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/z-height-calibration-area/#post-201684. with a link to github where the developers show what points are being probed.

I hope those will clear things up for you.
