Malfunctioning MK3s

So the printer is about 6-9 months old and has worked perfectly since the beginning up until recently.

For some reason it has become very unstable and seems to get stuck during calibration when there is nothing to get stuck on.

I took a video of it here: , skip to 1:10 to see the action.

Worst of all is that sometimes it suddenly works, and once it has started printing it works fine.

In the video I have pressed print from SD card on a model, it's warming up, and doing a 3x3 height measuring. After the first 4 points it suddenly stops on something and completely messes up the X-axis.

If I, after the fail, tells it to go to home, it will stop on the middle on the bed as if it's the end. I press home again and it moves closer, but it takes a total of 8-10 "Homes" before its actually home.

Any ideas?

What maintenance did you do on the printer?

Tips:

  1. Check your grub screws on the X-Axis.
  2. Chuck your belts.
  3. Check your rails to make sure they are not scratched or bent.
  4. Check the bearings and make sure moved smooth by hand with the print off.
