Layers Bunching? Galaxy PLA

Hello all 🙂 First post here!

MK3S, latest firmware as of this post, .4MM nozzle

I've been having a weird issue going on lately. It usually happens after the first couple layers, but not always. Sometimes it will pop up a few hours into the print.

Basically after a few layers being printed the PLA starts to...bunch up a bit. It doesn't happen at every area of the print, sometimes it'll be the middle, other times the sides...sometimes it's minor and others its extreme, but I can't figure out what's going on.

I've Z adjusted, first layer adjusted, cleaned the print surface off, done every other calibration, dried the filament, etc etc. I've noticed that in these areas the layers don't really "stick" together too well which makes me think it's possibly a temp issue, but even after raising it the problem will sometimes pop up.

Only other thing I can think of is that I'm using the Prusa Galaxy PLA and it seems to happen on that the most. Maybe a bad roll?

Any ideas?

Here are a couple pics of it happening..A couple from a Pi case I was printing, and another from a print a couple days ago (an extreme example of it happening)

Thanks in advance!

RE: Layers Bunching? Galaxy PLA

Sort of looks like part warping. Warp happens with PLA, just not as much as ABS or PETG.  A warp will lift a corner or section of a larger part, causing over-extrusion (plastic squishing out the edge of a part or ripples in the middle of apart).

Increasing adhesion helps.  First and foremost is soap and water (alcohol isn't the best choice here); and second is to raise the bed temp from 60 to 70c.  Even 75c in some cases.
