IR filament sensor always things filament loaded

My Mk3 was not autoloading filament anymore. I tracked down the problem that the IR sensor is always sensing filament, no matter if it is loaded or not. (in LCD Menu -> Support -> Sensor info).  I took my machine apart following the instructions on: IR sensor troubleshooting.  When the extruder motor is removed, the sensor will finally read "0" (unloaded), but as soon as I put the motor back in place the sensor changes to "1" (filament loaded).  I do not see any debris in the sensor area.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

Yea its a known design flaw. Check out the thread I created on it a few days ago: LINK

I went through the troubleshooting guide completely and accidentally fixed it by loosening the sensor pcb screw. Was super excited to post the solution here and then I noticed the related topic below with this exact fix... 😊

This related topic [FIX] Filament Autoload not working was the solution for me.

I just built a new i3 Mk3S and everything worked perfectly except the filament sensor was always on.  I saw this post and loosened the screw holding the IR sensor down 1 turn.  Now the filament sensor works!  Very quick fix as you just have to take the top plate off to access that screw.
