Hyperbed leveling - Firmware Upload Problem

Hi,

I'm trying to level the printing bed of my new Prusa MK3. I've tried the bed calibration approach to no avail and have now been trying to use the Hyperbed leveling method ( https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting-f78/hyperfine-bed-leveling--t4330-s60.html ). Im running into an issue with the compiled code after uploading it to the MK3. After uploading either the modified or original code via Arduino the LCD display, in the top right hand side of the display shows "Z ?". When I try to make axis adjustments, where the micrometer and numbers should be it simply says "?". There are no issues with compiling and uploading (no errors). I can successfully update the firmware using the .hex file provided by prusa but I cant upload my own to the printer.

Has anyone encountered this error? I would really appreciate any help.

Im using Arduino 1.8.5 (tried 1.8.8)
Firmware from here https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/releases/tag/v3.5.1

Thank you!
