How to regrease the linear bearings?

I'm at about 1,000 printing hours, and have decided to rebuild my axis. One part of this is that I plan to remove the bearings, degrease them, then regrease and reassemble. I'm having trouble finding information online about how to PROPERLY grease linear bearings. Some people wipe some lithium grease on them and roll them over the rods (seems like a good way to score a rod, but what do I know?). Then I found this guy that actually packs the bearings. What have y'all done? I just want these bearings to have some fresh grease and maybe even quiet them a bit, since I didn't grease them when I built the kit.

I did the same stuff as the guy in the video.

Squirt some blue lithium grease into the bearing, get two rods, get both together in the bearing. Do this 3 times per bearing.
But it's a mess.

Degreasing helps getting rid of the shipping oil, but this stuff is so light the bearings with the hard grease will rub it out anyway over time so i didn't bother degreasing.

I wonder why Prusa does not add some grease to their bearings on their printers, the shipping oil all bearings come with should not be used for lubrication at all.

Cool. I'll give this a try. I'm mostly just degreasing my current bearings to try and clean out any gunk that is likely inside them after printing for so long. Drop them in a bottle of degreaser and shake them around for a few minutes.
