Hey, I'm back!

Spent $300 getting my Prusas fixed up at a local 3D repair shop and a couple of weeks later, they're both down again ><

So the first issue on my MK3s is some nasty layer shifting almost on a diagonal (picture attached). I'm pretty sure I replaced the idler pulley, belt, and bearings on this... not sure what's gone wrong this time. It worked fine for about a week until it didn't.

And the second issue on my MK3 with BondTech is I replaced the filament, and the fresh filament feeds in like 2 inches in, then catches on the bottom and the stepper just clicks over and over again eating into the filament. I tried super heating it and ran a pretty thick needle up the nozzle, greased up the pullies, tried the cold draw method... no luck, still clicking.

Does Prusa do refurbishments? Like I can mail them my printers, they make them perfect again and send them back? Is that a thing?

Also waiting to buy the extra large model they have slated to come out this year. Maybe then I can pass these older models down the line to someone who has a bit more talent for maintenance >.>

As far refurbishment, I would contact chat and ask.  I have send a few printers for sale from Czech so it might be possible.  They can tell you.

Did you lubricate your bearings?  The layer shift is near 100% caused by mechanical issues.  I have also seen this with loose or inappropriate locations for grub screws.

3d printers will need maintenance, and yes you need to learn this, otherwise you will have to send the printer a lot of times to a shop.

Almost all low price printers need often work, in the beginning not as much, but wen they get older you need to find the problems and replace parts.(to prevent problems do maintenance).

Read forum about printers every day, then you can learn, and see problems with your printer model.

(I am now printing again after a very long time searching at fault of my printer, and just did a rebuild(whole rebuilds 2 days), and replace a lot of parts, and to find out I have the same problem as before, and I am working on fixing the problem and possible found it).

Check the whole printer on all bolts(do not forget the grub scews), check all belts, check if all moves with getting stuck, check the whole extruder if it is to loose. Do a cold pull(see prusa website on how to do this), to see if inside the extruder is OK.

Grease rods and other parts, that need this, rods I clean every 2 rolls of filament, and put alight oil on them.

Then printing,(most important)

learn to clean bed, use dish soap, and a lot of hot water.

learn first layer calibration, this needs to be 100%, search in youtube to see examples.
