Just realized the two of the magnets which hold the build plate have fallen off from the bed? Can these be replaced or glued back in place? Is there is a procedure or recommended glue for this or should I just purchase a new heat bed?
Thanks!
I used the following - before the magnets fell out, but will work when you put the magnets back in.
Put them in with the metal spring plate fitted so that they are attracted to it, then using a disposable glove smear over the magnet filling the gap with the sealant adhesive and leave to dry overnight, also do all the rest of the magnets as well.
@chocki
Thanks! I'll try and find something similar on this side of the pond.
I assume I'll need to remove the heat bed to fix this up.
Support recommended loctite HY 4090, but that glue is expensive and requires a application gun which by the time you purchase is the replacement cost for the heated. I think I'm going to go with some 2-part JB Weld, which supports up to 500C (260C) which should honestly be fine. I think a little Kapton tape over them won't be a bad idea either.
Exactly what I picked up at Home Depot this afternoon. When I flipped the bed over turns out there was 3 more missing, which I found and glued them all back in place.
I plan to also put some tape over them just to keep them in place.
The Chinese Clone manufacturers use Kapton tape. Over the magnets.
Most tape adhesives soften at heat bed temperatures

Yes, I ordered some of this tape ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W3FAFP0 ) to put over all the magnets. The magnets are held in place just fine with the plate attached. I think I read that it is mainly the slapping of the plate onto the heat bed which shakes them loose. The tape should honestly just hold them in place even if the epoxy comes loose.
