First layer anomaly

I have been printing on two other printers for years.  I assembled a Prusa MK3S, it passed all the tests, and it prints decently, except that the bed temperature is about 7 degrees lower than specified in the gcode.  I just crank that up in the slicer to compensate.

But here's the rub. When the printer lays down its first layer, the layer sticks to the bed, but the individual strings, in the diagonal fill-in process, don't stick to each other.  The print will stay attached to the bed, but when I take the print up at completion, the "strings" on the bottom are attached to the perimeter, but not to each other, nor to the layer above.  I can just pull them all off the bottom.  Hover, the next layer up is normal.

I've live-z-ed this thing to a fare thee well, I've tried speeding up or slowing down the first layer, always the same result.

Any ideas?    Thanks in advance for any insights into this mystery.

RE: First layer anomaly

Picture of your first layer? From your description it seems like your Live Z needs to be more negative. Try this method https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/life-adjust-z-my-way/, which uses larger squares to make calibration of your first layer easier.

What @fuchsr said.

You also may need to nudge the nozzle temp up a bit.
