Firmware Flash Fail

Before I spend a bunch of time in an online chat, wondering if I'm overlooking something simple?

Dozens of attempts results in avrdude "timeout". Like there is no response from the printer.

I've followed the guides. easy. I've precisely performed all 6 issues in the firmware flash troubleshooting guide. I've attempted to flash off of two different computers, windows 10 and windows 7. COM ports look fine in device manager and I can communicate with the printer on both computers with Pronterface. My raspberry pi runs the printer just fine. I've tried several different usb cables and all usb ports. I've uninstalled and installed the software and drivers multiple times, including doing so from the local HD Program Files folder. I've done many many power cycles and reboots, unplugging the printer. I've turned off my antivirus and closed down background processes. I disconnect the raspberry, so its not part of the issue. Oh, I have NOT done a factory reset, as I just got the printer.
All result in a timeout error.

Everything about the printer is great, and it runs just fine Oddly, the printer knows there is a new FW, and reminds me to flash at the beginning of every print, although I don't know how.

What am I missing?
Thanks!
Chris

Re: Firmware Flash Fail

I've now attempted a full factory reset of all data, and still get the timeout error. I also tried a few more iterations of power cycle, reboot, and port settings in Windows and still get timeout error. If I drill down into the port drivers in device manager, I've tried both the "Microsoft" driver with digital signature, and the Prusa driver with "Authenticated" signature. Both get same results.

Have I got a bad Ensy board?

Thanks, Dreambox. That's actually the first thing I did was work through all those troubleshooting suggestions.

Spent about an hour with online chat support yesterday. We tried a number of things, including using 3rd party app to try and flash, with the same result. I was asked to provide screen shots via email, and wait for a reply. Fingers cross they can find a solution.

Re: Firmware Flash Fail

Another quick update. I attempted flashing from my RPi 3b via Octoprint. Same result. No response from the printer.

I did get an email from support asking me to again, uninstall and reinstall all drivers and software. I've already done that with both computers-- the Windows 10 laptop, and my Windows 7 desktop.

I really hope support can get me fixed.
