Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3

Trying to update the Firmware, but the firmware updater isn't allowing me to connect, despite my computer recognizing the printer as a COM port....

Check to see if you have more than one COM port available. My firmware updater always defaults to COM1, but the Prusa always connects on COM4. When I start the update, if I use COM1 it always fails, but using COM4 I immediately hear the fans go full speed, telling me it is doing the firmware update, and then it is always successful.

Just ran the update from 3.2 to 3.2.1 and received a filament sensor wiring error. Tried it twice. same error. Reflashed 3.2.0 and filament sensor is working again.

Proud owner of a Mk3 that is producing very nice prints. There is room for improvement as I learn more about it, but so far I am very happy.

Just turn the printer off and on again and then try the self-check again. That's all I had to do to make the filament sensor error go away.

Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3

I just upgraded to 3.2.1 and like some of the improvements, however can someone confirm my understanding about the crash detection bug... are bed and nozzle temperatures always reset to 0 after a crash? Since I was getting more than my fair share of errant Y-crashes I was hoping to try to see if things had improved with the new firmware. I'm now nervous to turn the feature back on because it sounds like any crash will essentially abort the print.

Am I understanding correctly?

That's my understanding as well. I wouldn't turn it on, here's the bug in github: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues/754

You have to install the driver package from there: https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/

I get this page when I got to https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/

Seems the only thing to click on is the big download button, which gives me a zip with just one .hex file in. Where exactly do I find this page?

Can you not click on the "Download for Windows" button as well, under the "Driver 2.1.5" heading? The firmware download is just the firmware hex file. Everything else (including the firmware utility) is in the driver package.

You're already looking at it. It's just been rearranged.

You were correct. I tried it again and it work after a power cycle. Thanks!

That's not the issue as I only have one thing connected to my computer (the printer). Its not even giving me the option to select a COM port, which I wish it would give the option to manually select/specify.

I'm not too concerned because I am seeing that the current version seems to have problems and my printer is running perfectly fine with the version flashed on it at the moment...

How do you save the e-correct setting? I entered the number I wanted after printing the ECOR tower and clicked the button but it was back to [off] after a power cycle.

It's downloadable on the Prusa website, but not listed as a full release on github.
Does that mean anything?

3.2.1 was showing as the latest release on GitHub when it came out. Now it is just a one line link above 3.2.0. I wonder if that is just an error or if there is actually a problem with 3.2.1? Nothing seems particularly desperate in Issue. Weird.

PowerPanic does not work on 3.2.1

Hi all!

PowerPanic feature does not work on 3.2.1, as described here.

After resuming from a PowerPanic event, the bed and the nozzle heat up, head goes to last position and stays there, nothing happens.

I would like to hear from someone who tested it successfully with release 3.2.1, if any.

Cheers,
Jonnie

Have the artifacts been pulled for some reason? GitHub is only showing (default) source for tag v3.2.1.
