Firmware 3.7.2 update checksum issue

Tried to update my stock MK3 (still on original firmware since last year 3.6.0-2069). Connections ok and file transfers to printer. Subsequent checksum(s) fail and update fails. Tried a couple of other versions with same result. Tried two usb cables and two different usb ports. Rebooted PC and rebooted MK3 but still the same problem:

From PrusaSlicer 2.00:

avrdude-slic3r -v -p atmega2560 -c wiring -P COM4 -b 115200 -D -U flash:w:0:K:\AD\April 10\prusa3d_fw_3_7_2_MK3\prusa3d_fw_MK3_3_7_2_2363.hex:i

RE: Firmware 3.7.2 update checksum issue

Try downloading the firmware from the Prusa site again.

Also - I presume you are using Prusa Slicer to flash.  If not, expect issues.

And you may want to try a factory reset with DATA CLEAR option selected.

Thanks for the reply. I tried PrusaSlicer 2 as well as V1.4. Just checking the machine before factory reset and the firmware shows as 3.7.2.2363 which is a bit puzzling. Everything seems to work and I am currently trying my first petg print. One thing is curious, having preheated for pet(g) I cannot select first layer calibration other than pla and the temperatures are reduced accordingly. This also happened on V3.6 and I thought it may be a bug that was cleared in a later update, obviously not.  At this stage I am reluctant to do a full reset unless you think it would help.

RE: Firmware 3.7.2 update checksum issue

First layer cal is always PLA; as far as I know you can't do a first layer cal with anything else.

You need to select the Z-offset option, sorry, forget the precise name: maybe Live Adjust Z ??, but it shows up when you start to print, and is also under Tune.    In any case, I use a small part that has a large area that gives time to actually adjust, review, adjust a few times.   You can also read Jeff's Life-Z Adjust My Way post here in the forums.

Yep, created a 100mm square pad for testing. Not sure I have ever seen the "pla only" restriction but I guess it is for a good reason. Looking through the menu I see my board is reported to be einsy_10a when it is the RAMBo.
