Filament leaking after changing nozzles
I attempted my first nozzle change from the stock nozzle to a 0.25, but the new nozzle would not fit well. I had to really struggle to screw it in, but eventually I did get it to fit. However, now filament is oozing and piling up on top of the heater block, and in that small gap between the nozzle and hot end. I can't print things longer than a few hours because it starts to ooze up and drip into the print.
I have completely disassembled the hot end and checked it, cleaned it, and reassembled it, but the problem persists. I've put the original nozzle back in, and it still leaks. I did follow a YT video on disassembling the hot end, so my next guess is to follow the official written steps instead.
Is this something I need to replace or can it be fixed? If I need to replace it, should I get another stock hot end or upgrade? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Two things
It is hard to tell with the filament leakage on it.
- It looks like you are leaking above the heat block between the heat block and heat sink. If it is, you are assembled incorrectly. See the image below.
- Your nozzle is not against your breakbreak on the inside. It might need to be tightened. Check 1 first because if 1 is wrong, you can not fix 2.

Loose Heat Break
I don't quite know how, but when I was changing nozzles, I pushed the heat break up a bit, and that's where it was spilling from. I took apart the entire thing, which was difficult since there was melted plastic all over it (I did have to heat up the hot end a bit to screw the heat break back in), but now it's working perfectly.
