Fan shroud problem.

I am new to the Prusa 3D printer and i have a massive problem with the above.

My system is the Original Prusa i3 mk3/s and i purchased it as a kit.

I have successfully built the 3D printer and everything works fine.

Apart from the fan shroud that is hitting the print bed before the extruder can print on the print bed.

I have updated the fan shroud to the latest version but it is still much too low.

Can anyone please help me out here?

Many thanks.

RE: Fan shroud problem.

Could you include a photo ?.

I have had a fan shroud cattch of the top of the print .

However , i have slackened off the screw and moved it enough out of the way.

It sounds like your one is mounted wrongly ?

3 x photos of the shroud and note the difference in distance (2mm) of the extruder and shroud in photo 1.

RE: Fan shroud problem.

perhaps you have installed the hot end 90degrees out of position?

Please check... the long part of your heatsink is in line with the X axis. it should be in line with your Y axis

Definitely got the hotend out by 90 degrees as the wires should exit out the left hand side when viewed from the front.  Thats also a really bad print of the fan duct, that first layer is terrible.

Also shouldn't this be in the MK3 forum not the mini as that is not a mini pictured.

Many thanks to you all. That has solved the problem.

This is indeed a MK3 and not a mini. My apologies.

All i have to do now is get things to stick to the bed. Everything i have tried so far has not worked. Most frustrating !!

@steffjay

Use the method described in this thread https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/life-adjust-z-my-way/   its far superior to the built in method and easy to use.

Also if you are having problems with adhesion then the best method for cleaning the bed is to use plain unscented dish soap such as fairy/dawn and LOTS of HOT water to rinse.  There are lots of threads around that go into the details on how to clean the print sheets, I'm sure Joan has one book marked 🙂
Just only handle the edges of the sheet after cleaning to stop more finger oils transferring to the sheet.

It works much better than IPA to remove all the oils and grease.
