DOUBT ABOUT MMU2S DISASSEMBLY

Hi there, folks,

I've been checking the forum for this particular info, but I can't seem to find it here.

I'm fairly new to the whole 3D printing thing, since an Original i3 MK3S with an MMU2S has come to my possession, already assembled, but I can't seem to make the MMU2S work. It doesn't load and/or unload filaments properly into the unit or the extruder.

I've made sure to update firmwares for both the printer and the unit and to properly configure (and update) Octoprint as well, but the MMU2S seems to be the problem. I've been able to print once with it (so I know the extruder works) and it heats properly and the axises work as well.

While I explore my options with the MMU2S, I was wondering if the printer can, in the meantime be used as a single filament configuration instead?

Would it be enough to fully disconnect the MMU2S and load the filament or do I need to change the firmware as well?

Again, if this question has already been answered, I'm sorry to have asked, I was not able to find it U~~

Have a nice day, y'all!! 🙂

RE: DOUBT ABOUT MMU2S DISASSEMBLY

Yes, I have the MMU2S, but usually use it as a single-filament unit.

I just unscrew the bowden tube between the MMU and the extruder, and I mounted a switch on the side to cut the power to the MMU.  Works fine both ways.  The little case for the switch is in the prints section.

To load the single filament, I just stick it in the hole and gently press inward toward the top of the idler on the right side of the extruder.  That starts the gears turning and the filament loading.

I also installed the remixed rear part of the MMU2S with the quick-release fittings.
